What worm?

Okay, riddle me this: what kind of worm builds a tube out of sand and deploys two long, transparent tentacles at feeding time? I've never seen the worm's body.

That's the standard mode of feeding in several families of polychaete worms. The ones that commonly show up in tanks are spionids and chaetopterids. Completely harmless detritivores.

Thanks for the info. I was worried I would have to remove it, but it never seems to bother anyone.

Yeah mine are currently booming in my tank. I can see a half dozen of them in the corner next to my chair alone. The more detrivores the better as far as I am concerned.
