What would be best overflow system....

.... with three one inch bulkheads? I was thinking of using two for drain and one for return. What do you guys think?

I have a 93g cube with a waveline 6000 for a return. I drilled 3 holes in the bottom back corner of my tank and put an overflow around them. I run a herbie drain and use the 3rd for a return. It's super clean as I don't have any exposed plumbing and quiet as can be. The only other option I would do is a bean animal.

The 'best' drain system is the three pipe bean animal - hands down! Two pipe Herbie is also very good, provided you size it sensibly. Single drain is a DWTH (can u work out the acronym).

A pump pushing 1,500 gph (less some head loss) is a lot of pump for a 90.

Well you are not going to get close to 1500 gph, more realistically will be around 900gph or so. Still, this is more than a durso, or dual durso can 'really' handle, so you are left with a siphon drain system.

As far as the overflow/drain system goes, you cannot be a full length C2C with a BA drain system. However, it seems you are stuck in a corner overflow, with three holes that are most likely too close together for a BA system, and it is not a good candidate for a BA to begin with. That leaves you with the 'herbie' modification to fit corner overflows. Do yourself a favor (and your pump) and run the return over the top though, you will get the most from your pump in that fashion, rather than necking it down through a smaller id 1" bulkhead (less than 1".)

For stand pipes for the drain should i use 1" or 1 1/4" pipe?

You don't need anything larger than 1" pipe. Max siphon flow capacity: ~1200gph, with a 24" drop. Going larger to 1.5" will get you up to ~1500gph. Durso is too pathetic to mention at 1"...

+1 Herbie.

One emergency, one open channel and one siphon line with a gate valve. Run the return behind the tank.

If you have extra head room to play with on the return, why not utilize the 3rd bulkhead?

Either way, dual 1" will be fine. My emergency line is set about 1/4" above my tank water level. The siphon is 5" below that with a strainer on the top. Be sure to put a gate valve on the full siphon line. It's been a good setup for me so far.

I'd always recommend having the third drain as an emergency. It will be too much flow for one 1" pipe alone if the siphon is blocked. (screen is a must, but an overflow lid is much better)
