So owning less common corals is a no no?

I guess I wouldn't want a fellow reefer gawking awkwardly over corals that his tank doesn't have because his LFS doesn't sell them, and they aren't in the mainstream yet.

You've got it backwards because you keep reading reading weird stuff into it that no one is saying. Most named corals are common and that goes 10x over for zoanthids and palys. You're paying for lineage. Lineage is fake, names are fake, it is what it is.
