whats a good LFS to buy all the things needed for a new reefer?

power strips and water jugs are usually bought at homedepot.
I buy most of my stuff from coral reef farm but they have will have to order the nanocube stand and any other misc. items that are not normally carried.

one thing u'll realize is that us people up here in broward are fish store spoiled. don't know why that is, but for some reason most of the stores in miami just can't keep up.
Id order the heater and test kits online and a thermometer. a $40 dollar heater in the store is like 16 online... Youll find better test kits (salifert) online cheaper. Cheato you can get for free from someone (I just trimmed mine otherwise...)

a store that's closer to you and should have all that stuff would be fishes of eden. they've got a decent selection of drygoods up front. plus I believe they've got some tanks for sale. rock. not sure about the sand...and tons of fish and corals. if you need cheato, lemme know as I've got TONS!

I would recommend Exotic Aquariums on Bird Road: probably the biggest in stock selection of equipment in Miami Dade county, and it is pretty close to you if you just hop on the Dolphin east to the Palmetto, and South to bird road. Its only a couple of blocs east of the Palmetto off ramp. Of course, while you are on Bird road, you might as well hit the other 4 stores on that road. Hard to beleive, but there really are 5 fish stores with marine stuff on Bird.

Thanks a lot for the help guys... I had been to exotic aquariums before but never realLý looked at their dried goods section and didn't know it was so well stocked. Got everything I needed there. Btw the tank was sold and waiting to get picked up. Karen, the owner, was very helpful too. This will def be my store of choice!

IME, dont stick to just one store or you will be missing out on alot of things. Each store will bring in something a little different than the others with each shipment so you just need to be patient and peek around alot to get different and better quality livestock.
