I know there is a ton of different brands and sizes, but what are you paying for your salt to the door, meaning, if you buy local, the total with tax and the size, or online including shipping. Also for arguments sake, what do you use....

Reef Crystals, just got a bucket the other day and supported the local guy! (AquaMart) $59.99 for a 160 bucket. Would have taken a box had they had it.

I am looking to order some pretty quick, like in the next day or two if anyone wants to tag along.

Fosters and smith has reef crystals for 43.99 for the 160 gallon buckets and 5.99 shipping.

Use this coupon code for $5 off and your shipping will be .99 for all the salt you want to order.

I Just got this deal. It was pretty quick too. Best part is you can order as many buckets as you want and it is still $5.99.

2nd that! I have so many buckets they were filling up the basement. Went to boxes from F&S / Reef Crystals and it works out great and you basically get a extra bag for a few bucks more. 3 bags fit in a bucket to the brim and you get 4 bags in a box of RC. GO WITH RC, I switched a few months back and I'm so happy I did. I used Pro Reef Red Sea and had lots of residue in my 50g mixing barrel, RC has no residue and haven't had to clean the barrel once since I switched over. I have used lots of salts and RC is the best by far.

Ordered a couple buckets for now, didn't have any. I have been using Ocean pro for the last few years and it was in 25 gallon bags which was convenient. I can se a couple more buckets and if memory serves the Drs only have the buckets of RC right now anyway. At least thats all I saw.

Im getting RC 200lb box at LFS for $54.00. I think thats it. Not worth ordering when my LFS guy is helping me as much as he does.

my lfs has a great deal on salt ,its $40 plus tax all the time . they sell it cheap so people will go to the store and shop there . awesome deal huh?

Not many LFS owners figure it out before it's too late but trying to compete with online sellers and petco and petsmart is a losing proposition. Doing things like selling salt mix and other items you need on a regular basis cheap gets people in the store were they can see all your cool livestock for sale at a nice profit.

They call those loss leaders, and sadly many LFS folks don't understand the concept or potential return.
