We have several branching hammers, torches and frogspawns in our tank. I have noticed several of them now have small holes (size of a ball point pin) in the skeleton and others the skeleton is getting eaten away. The skeletons look like termites have eaten at it. Any clue or should I take some photos??? We have lots of SPS and they all seem fine it is just the branching skeletons of torches / hammer we notice this on. All the hammers / torches are fully extended and look healthy other then the skeleton getting eaten away.
At first I thought it was our reef safe Hawaiian Left Handed Hermit Crabs causing the problem until I noticed the small holes. I don't think the crabs can create a small hole.
thanks!

I had/have this same issue, however, it only happened to one of the stalks. I never found the culprit though, The head ended up falling off and i put it in a nice hole in my rock (its doing well).

Sorry i don't have an answer for ya, but atleast you know your not alone :)
