SO i have this pukani rock from brs(wish i really never go it never stays together way to odd of shapes) but i need something to keep it together like an epoxy or something that is reef safe...or something that works would fisihng line hold that together ik acrlic rods are good use but this rock is too brittle and i just need something to keep it together so it dosnt always fall over. Thanks!

if your talking about the crappy aquasticks that you mold around forget it! had those before and they just dissolved on me and never held anything together

I've never used anything to hold my rock together except for gravity. That's not to say I haven't had any collapses b/c I certainly did in the beginning.

Currently I have totuka and pukani and they both have enough porosity and nooks and crannies, that they really lock together well.

With that being said, I plan on getting some epoxy and super glue and making several structures that will be used in our 150g. I do like the idea of being able to remove these as a whole "unit" if a need arose.

With the epoxy, you mush it together, and I've always added superglue to ether side of it, and then stuck it to DRY rock or rock that been dried off with a towel. Hold it together for a minute or two, and you can put it back in the water if needed. If not, let it dry overnight. Never had an issue.

I like using black zip ties with schedual 80 (gray) pvc, after a few months coralline will make it dissapear. fishing line will eventually dissolve in seawater.

I have used the green epoxy from my reef store ARC/rods and ecotech glue. Just ask your LFS when the next shipment is coming in. I am sure they have weekly deliveries.

Many have had success with this method but I've no experience with it. With the super porous rock like many of us have, I'd be concerned with the rock disintegrating when the drill bit hits it.

I could see shelf or other dense rock holding together better.

yeah...im gonna try to get some epoxy and mix it with superglue and see how that works im just worried about the rocks falling over and crushing a coral or fish dont want that to happen!

Wear gloves and do in a ventilated area...no huffin' it Aaron! ;)

I heard that mixing the two is pretty potent!

No hijack intended, but I've been of the understanding that monofiliment last longer than forever. Isn't that one of the arguments against sportfishermen?

I used regular portland cement and aragonite sand layed my rocks out how i wanted them and just used the cement to hold them together, worked great for me. And it is very strong
