What's eating my sun coral?

The sun coral is being fed mysis shrimps daily and doing well. Next morning I found 1 polyp with the white skeleton exposed.

Anyone has an idea what could have caused this?

The only other occupant of my tiny tank is another sun coral and a cleaner shrimp.

Thanks.

how is the cleaner shrimp when you feed the sun?? does he tear at the polyps to get the mysis out?? do you use a feeding hat when you feed them??

I don't use a feeding hat.

The shrimp does try to grap the food when I am not looking so it is a suspect, but is it possible that it will go to the extent of tearing the skin off the coral?

I wouldnt think the shrimp is the culprit. I usually use a cup over my sun to feed but after i take it off, my cleaner and fire shrimp work over the sun for at least 20 minutes. Ive never seen any ill effects from my shrimp messing with my sun.
Are you sure that this just happened? Could it have happened over a few days? If so, it may just be receding and not getting fed enough. You may want to try some meatier food like a mix of shrimp, clam, squidd, etc. soaked in selcon or zoecon.

Thanks for the replies.

I am sure that it happened overnight to one of the polyps as I was handfeeding it the night before.

However currently I am feeding them only mysis shrimps. Maybe will try to add more variety of food.
