well the tank has been up for a year and so I decided to let the wife get her anemone. (even though the clowns already hoast a toadstool) well anyway after aculimating and putting it in the tank it found a spot in a cave and only peaks out. well I thought it it wants to move it will so I left it. well after a week it looks like it is splitting but I never seen an anemone split from anywhere but in half.

the anemone is about 6" when fully opened and the part that looks like my leather when it drops babbies is only about 1/2"- 1" any ideas on what is going on?

It's possible that it's splitting from stress, being introduced to a new environment. I've heard of splits into 3's and 5's so it doesn't always split straight down the middle.

wow that would be great. the LFS that I got it from only had it under VHO's and i have 2 400 watt 20K XM's i have fed it silversides and raw shrimp but only ate 1 time in the week I had it. my par. are as such:

sg. 1.025
temp 79
pH 8.1
cal. 450
mag 1300
alk 10
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 5ppm

so I think my tank is setup fairly good for an anemone. but a split would be much better then it falling apart and dying

You should reduce your lighting schedule and/or use a screen over the top of the tank to diffuse the light.

Going from VHO to 2x 400 watt MH is a big difference.

You need to slowly acclimate it to the lighting.
