What's going on with my Tang?????????

I have a scopas tang in my 50 gallon. This morning, I noticed that it looked pale. 8 hours later, I noticed that my scopas tang was EXTREMELY pale. He was so pale that he was almost entirely white on some parts of this body. What is causing this? I know of no diseases that would exhibit such symptoms. Is it possible that the tang is missing some important nutrient/mineral in the water? My water quality is perfect as of now-no ammonia, nitrates, nitrites...etc.

Fish change colors .. sometimes due to stress. Whether your fish is under stress is tough to say .. depends on a number of factors including whats in the tank and whether the fish has been properly acclimated to captivity. Most people would argue that tangs don't belong in a tank a small as yours .. something to consider. In the interim focus on keeping the fish feeding and "stress free".

Good luck.
