Looks like hydroids, if you're talking about the stuff in the background.
If they look like these, chip off the rock below them and get them out. Not overly aggressive, but you have way more than I did.

Might also have some foraminifera there; they grow well when there are lots of food particles in the water, and they are good food for some fish or inverts.

Thanks guys!!!!

Sushigirl... Even with the crappy pic from my cell phone. I think you nailed it. Your pic is exactly what they look like up close. If I touch them they retracted into a tube.So I should just snap the little suckers off. I thought they where something like a pest. There is about four colonies in the tank. They just popped out of nowhere..........

SantaMonica... These foraminifera you you speak of. Are those all the tubes sticking off my live rock??? Sometimes it looks like a tongue sticking out and swirling around. I have these tubes everwhere. I can get a pic if needed. I will use a real camera this next time.

Cheers!!

I would try to pop off a piece of the rock they are on. I pulled the little clump of maybe a dozen that I had out with tweezers. The couple that didn't come off with a piece of coralline attached at the base of the clump have come back. That was a year ago, though & I just have 5 in my overfed tank. So to me if you don't get them all the way to the base they'll come back.

If your stick things have something moving in them, they're probably vermetid snails.

Vermetid snails huh. I'm gonna google them. My rocks are covered. It's not terrible but when I look at others tanks on here, They don't seem to be as abundant in their tanks.

Cheers
