I need to find out what the blank is going on. First I lose my 24" bubble gum chalice and a few heads of hammer coral. Now I come home and see whats in the pic, whatever it is doesnt kill them off fast. The flesh just would fall off my chalice and now I noticed on my frag I had there is a small hole that appeared in the flesh. For the elegance and hammer coral the flesh seems to shrink and slowly melt away. I would like to figure this out so that I can order what ever I need to do to save this elegance.

also could I possible use our iodine to dip until I can get my hands on some sort of coral dip, I do not have any LFS around me

Iodine dip is definitely a good idea. I would frag away as much of the infected/dead tissue as possible.

As for what's wrong. Have you checked all equipment for stray volts? No way copper or other contaminants got in? Have a local reefer double check your parameters and let you borrow iodine or dip. Small consistent water changes to deal with any nitrate issues from dead tissue.

As much as I can check for stray voltage is good, as for fragging the good parts that didnt work for the chalice. What ever it was found its way to the good frags eventually. I am going to order some coral dip today but will use medical iodine today to dip the coral. How much is good to
 
No, to be honest I havent tested these in years. I have always dosed every sunday the same amount, unless I do a water change that week.
 
I don't normally test mine unless something is going wrong. your tank seems to be having some issues so I would test if I were in your shoes. You may find your magnesium is way off. If it is, ca dn alk won't stay in the proper range and corals especially chalices are vulnerable to low magnesium levels.
 
Tested cal and its 480 but I had just dosed limewater, tomorrow my alk test will be here. I also noticed I am slowly losing hammer coral heads. One day they are normal next day wont open, next day head is starting to fall of as if its melting off. This is 5he only thing I have every had go wrong with this tank so its kinda annoying I cant figure it out.

I also have coral revive coming also, I need to know if this might work or should I get some sort of I odine and try to dip. I would have to get something sold in drug stores because I have no LFS near who deal with salt water

I know the few times I've overdosed likewater my coral didn't like it but pH and alk came down within a day so no biggie. Your pH being that high all the time may be what's killing your lps. I would try bringing it down. You use reef crystals salt by any chance?
 
I did use reef crystals before the last of the local LFS's went under. Now I am stuck with IO unless I travel to pa. It sucks that I can not get it.
 
I think IO is lower on some of the specs. This is way some people will dose certain elements while using IO.

I am going to purchase a mag test kit also off amazon today.
