what's killing my snails?

I keep adding snails and keep finding dead ones. I do not think it is a predator killing them as I can see them off the bottom of the tank out of their shell lifelessly laying there. All my corals, clams, and fish seem to be doing well.

Are there any trace element I should test for to see if that would be a problem?

How are you acclimating them, what is your salinity, how are you testing your salinity, how long has the tank been setup, what kind of snails, is there potentially any copper ( fish disease treatment, or other ) in your water, do you use filtered water, can you post any water parameters?

bad acclimation or bad snails.....keep an eye on your levels..snails usually survive until the end of the tank so you need to either be doing somethign really bad..or something in your tank is doing something really bad to those snails...more indepth information on your tank would be needed to better identify the issue

This part is key "I can see them off the bottom of the tank out of their shell lifelessly laying there" . Me thinks he might have a murderous hermit.
