Whats needed to control/see 2 systems?

I have the Apex setup on my 65g now, and have to say it's one of the best purchases I've made.

My girlfriend and I have a 300g on the way (WOOT) and I want to be able to control that system also, but I'm unsure of whats need to do so. Basically, want to expand the Apex using the same Display.

I'm assuming my parts list should look like this:

Apex base Unit or Probe Module 1?
Probes
EB8 (and 4 as needed)
Long USB cable?

As I mentioned, I'm really unsure of how to connect this all together, so any help or link would be greatly appreciated!

/D

You probably don't need another base unit as it is capable of handling up to 240 modules and hundreds of probes according to the Neptune website. You would just need the appropriate number and type of PMs to add the desired monitoring and enough EBx units for control. You may also need a custom length USB cable depending on how far away the new tank will be from the nearest aquabus port.

I was kind of thinking I would only need the add on modules and EBx's. I had seen a post about someone having multiple tank setup through his Apex but can't seem to remember where I saw it.

The only limitation that I can think you may run into is with the display. There are 4 pages and each page allows 4 probes and 16 outlets, but with just two tanks that should be plenty.

I was thinking about the display, and thought that I would change the display to just show me the specifics from each tank: PH, Temp. I like the others being on there, but they aren't really of concern since I will get emails if something fails.

I think I should be ok.

...still trying to find that post where the guy had multiple systems running. I want to say he had is info up on Kengaro, but I'm not sure.

Check out the pages on Reeftronics for Will J and YZReef - both are running multiple tanks on a single Apex. And in Will's case, a bunch of stuff besides multiple aquariums.
