Whats the average cost of a 6line around SF and San Bruno

I think farely inexpensive. $20?

Just becareful with these because they can be pretty aggressive and might not let you safely add any new fish to your tank.

I gave away my coriss it hid too much and is a wimp, useless. I wonder would it mess with a longnose hawk? that is already establish in a tank? I like their swimming paterns. Longnose currently 1.5 inches

I have no personal experience with a 6 six altho I had a friend who had to get one out of his tank, and have talked in person with multiple people who say their sixlines are just terrors. I'm sure it's all individually based but for me it's not worth the chance.

Do a search on sixlines and read other peoples experiences then decide for yourself if it can work for you. There are many other wrasses out there that are more mild mannered and look just as good if not better.

I personally prefer the fairy and flasher wrasses but there are so many. If you can find a good condition McCosker's or Carpenter's those are pretty cool and supposedly non aggressive. There is also Solarensis fairy which I like. Like I said, too many to name. Go look at marinecenter.com and see what they have. But do your research before you decide on one because some require special care.

I paid $10 for my 6line wrasse. I got two that I regrete adding in my tank --it killed my mystery wrasse. If I can catch it you can have them both.

Are they really that bad? If so than Im going to get a blenny than. Xin hey if you ever do get them let me know XD. So how are blenny's with longnose hawks. I was reccomended by a friend that told me that they are bold and come out and are entertaining fish to watch. Now where can I find a bicolor blenny? In SF or SB

I say NO to a bi-color blenny... they get territorial and will fin nip as well... even your hand at times... if you really want a bold friendly blenny that will provide janitorial services to your tank I suggest a Algae Blenny...

For wrasses 6lines if introduced to the tank as one of the first residents will quickly become territorial and will bully incoming fish.. although quite helpfull in aiding removal of pests, 6lines are notorious for taking down fish 3 times their size. they took down bigger wrasses in my tank... if you really want a wrasse I'd go with most fairy wrasse, flasher wrasse, leopards ( needs more experience handlers ), filament wrasses etc....

when you come over we can talk reef...

I am in the process of building a mini spear gun to try and catch/kill my sixline. Worst mistake I ever made in my tank. :D

Thales,

Try the watch were he sleeps technique.. besides sleeping in rocky crevices and nooks/cranies.... sometimes they opt to sleep on in the sand bed... all my wrasses sleep in different areas.. they have a handfull of favorite sleeping spots... you might catch him early in the morning sleeping on the sand bed while the lights are out, just scoop him out with a net... I did the with the previous wrasses and fish...

The one sleeping spot I have been about to fine is completely inaccessible. Oy!

Hey I was wondering, what's the minimum tank size for fairy or flasher wrasses? They look so beautiful but dunno if I can keep one.
