I need a return pump from my 100g sump to my 90g tank. I anticipate having 15' of head, what is the best pump to overcome this?

Depends on the flow you are looking for. If you don't mind spending the money, a Japanese motored pressure rated Iwaki is a great investment.

The Gen-X externals are a very good pump for the $, but are a little on the noisy side. For a basement sump, that often doesn't matter.

rxinc,
I bought the panworld 150 ps from reef tank supply dot com
Thanks to one and all!

Ross.

Hit Marine Depot and get a GRI 14520, a bit under 300. Can use the 14518 if you want a little slower flow with that head.

I haven't used these in an aquarium, but have spec'd GRI pumps for chemical/pharmacutical plants with alot more important operations than this. When in doubt and needing 15' of head, go with the company that makes real commercial pumps for a living :)
