Does the PVC Tee switch the flow from side to side? Didn't think so.

it switches the current from 1 side to the other on the t, not just spray it out equally.

all in all though, if flow loss isnt a concern, its a great device for the price. it just hinders flow greatly.

a better alternative would be any of the Oceans motions products, they use a small motor to rotate a spindle to different outputs, to provide a switching current, without sacraficing flow that much.

in cases where flow is important you can always run 2, one for each side of the tank.

I have a SCWD and wish I would have saved the money to invest in an Ocean Motions 2 way Squirt. SCWD will add a ton of head to pressure (I had to buy an oversized pump to compensate) vs a OM Squirt with very little restriction. Mine hasn't failed yet but it sounds like they don't work for too long either.
