Whats the current lighting consensus?

He said he had a 250w Icecap ballast, which is electronic.

12k Reeflux is a very middle of the road bulb, and I like it a lot more than 14k Hamilton, and works great on electronic ballasts.

Also DarG, he said he wanted blue in the first post. Maybe a bit more white than the XM 10k, as he felt it was yellow.

That being said, I do LOVE the Helios 20k bulbs. My friend had them on his tank in the 250w DE flavor, but I've heard that the EVC SEs are the same as the Helios bulbs, just in a SE package, so I'm considering trying them out at my next bulb swap.

That is correct, the EVC SE have the same inner element as the Helios lamps. Both are excellent lamps.

You're right. Cindyreef asked for the whiter 20K and I confused her reply with the OP's. Thanks.
