palys tend to be a bit bigger than regular zoa polyps. often times, palys share the signature mark of neon green slit in the center. maybe someone more experienced can chip in. you can also do a search on RC for this topic. i believe it's been discussed several times.
Palys are always bigger, as already stated, but they also share the common feature of growing out of a matt as opposed to being seperate polyps like many zoanthids. Most pink polyps are actually palythoa, but misleabeled as zoanthids.
