Whats the rule for Sump size vs Tank size

I am no longer an acrylic drilling virgin. I did my first hole tonight and it took about 15 minutes total of measuring and drilling. I choked my drill way down and went very slow. As stated earlier it was easy. Thanks a ton for the advice the return pump that I am planning on using is the RIO 32hf if you all feel that is to big I would gladly buy a smaller pump. I will probably use one of the chambers to grow algae with some live rock and a sand bed for pods.

Wow! Drill the hole from the outside first.. When the guide-bit goes through, turn around and go inside-out.. Just a better idea but a little more clean-up

I want to thanks all that gave me the confidence to do this myself. It turned out great. The only advice I would offer is make certain your measurements are exactly the same so the sumps will line up in the cabinet. Measure twice and drill once. Thanks again members of reef central I just doubled my sump volume and added a compartment for a fuge/algae scrubber.
