well, they are supposedly neurotoxic, like all zoanthids.
without getting into too much scientific stuff, basically, in order to make sure you arent poisoned by them, make sure you dont touch them with open wounds, do not eat them, and just make sure you wash your hands thorougly under hot water and soap after exposure.
i handle these all of the time and its not a big deal, as long as they do not touch any open orifice, in which toxins can get into your body. open orifices such as, mouth, nose, ears, eyes, any cuts/scrapes, and those 2 other places we need not discuss, b/c zoas have no business being down there.
another good way to do it, is to take some joes juice and syringe it into the polyps, just like eliminating aptasia.
most people's skin is pretty thick, and in good condition as they will not have to worry about any toxin being absorbed through their skin. you can wear some gloves if it makes you feel any better though. if you frag them and toss them away, just make sure to wrap it up in tp or something, and toss it in the trash where an animal/or pet cannot get to it accidently.
