I thought bubble algae, but it has been growing there for months. I have had a very small amount of bubble algae before, this is not like that. It has been there for months. It is getting larger, but at an extremely slow rate. I actualluy popped it 3 months ago and it was empty and had a very tough skin.

Any ideas? Here is the other one I have, it is much larger, about marble size.

Bubble algae. I've had some get as big as a dime in the hard to reach areas. They are almost like a rock/pebble, but WILL burst under enough pressure.

I had one of those! it got the size of a quarter. when i moved my tank i popped it.. it was REALLY hard. metalic looking. different from bubble algea..

I have the same thing so how do you make it go away? emerald crabs?

Some of the live rock in my fuge/sump has bubble that I've been testing with. The emeralds seems to take care of it, but it's a slow process. I'm kind of hesitant to add them to the main systems...

Red Sea Sailfin Tangs are the best Valonia control.
Only the Red Sea Sailfins though, regular Sailfins won't touch it.

Of course you have to have a big tank for these guys.

Its the same with me Eric. adding crabs to the tank that is ! at one time or another someone has had trouble with crabs even emerald
