I've just noticed this appear on my nem. I had to take a photograph to fully understand what it is. Wondered at first if it was the nem splitting but after seeing this I'm wondering if it's something else?

No it's definitely not a fragment of rock. It appears to be like a scab and there is now very heavy yellowing around that particular bit.
I do wonder if it's come into contact with the Urchin that's in there?
Last night the Nem closed up to the point you could see straight through its mouth to the rock behind its foot. I thought it was splitting but this morning it's opened back up again with no sign of a split. Just this weird growth.
