If so, my local reef club said it's a live rock hitchhiker, but not a bad one.

Looks like some type of anemone most likely a pest I would get rid of it before its a problem

I think its a some time of pest just a young one majono anemone. The local fish store has a tank loaded with them and they cant keep corals because they spread like wild fire and sting the hell out of corals. they have a wand type tool they use to remove them, its has a electric charge or something to separate them. I could be wrong tho im pretty new to this hobby

Damn that's exactly what they look like!! I live in SoCal and being that those come from my area, looks to be the same.

It looks really pretty but that may just be the quality of the photo :X The only aquarium store near me has a bad aiptasia problem and even tried to sell one of the larger ones as a coral with the actual name 'aiptasia' labeled on it...

Brandon I would say that is exactly what it is...atleast in my pic.

I've left mine alone for month and it hasn't really grown. I wouldn't call it a pest at all.
