What's this?

I noticed a little red "fern like" structure between the heads of my candy cane. Today I took a peak at the back and noticed some more. Any thoughts? I'm not getting anywhere typing "little red fern".

Yep. That's exactly what I was looking at. Glad to hear nothing to do. It's glued in place and appears very happy. I'm hoping for a lot of growth.
