Whats under your rocks?

I'm just about ready to fill my 190g. I was thinking about all the wieght of the rocks and sand. Is is safe to put a couple hundred pounds of rock directly on the glass? I will have a sandbed but I thought chances of a rockslide sometime in the future would be a little less if there wasn't sand under the rock (does that sound right?). Is there something that I should put under the rocks? Eggcrate or something? I'm thinking that pressure points could be created which could lead to problems. Or is this just a stupid question and I'm just overthinking things?

Thanks

i know some people use starboard?? i think thats what its called......its pretty much cutting board material that is used to disperse pressure points from the rocks. also to protect glass in case rockslide or your gonna have a big problem.

What about a sheet of ABS material? It's thinner, easily cut, and you can silicon it to the bottom, unlike the starboard. I also believe you can get it in white along with the standard black.

aside from piles of bristle worms the only thing under my rocks is aragonite. the LR tanks at the LFS stores just have the rocks piled into thier tanks and i mean piled...and they are always dropping them in there...no broken bottom yet that i have seen..

i dont think you need anything under the rocks for protection...
