do you notice any movement on the stalks? looks like snail eggs and coralline algae and common green algae...
how long have you had them? The should be in med to low flow area
So any idea or did you just wanna play 20 questions?
Without full information and being there with your tank every day, all anyone can do is ask questions to try to figure it out. You didn't provide any water parameters except salinity, so questions are going to be what you get until you provide all the info necessary to try to figure it out.
Guss...my Euphylia close up when they are growing or about to split. Maybe this is a good sign. My torch for instance, was closed to moderately open....nothing like normal though....two weeks ago for about 2 days. Then wham - I saw another mouth.
I know someone will give me slack, but move them to another place that gets more flow, when they were in my tank I know there were getting most of the flow from the closed loop. So it might be a chance the lack of flow(maybe) may be the issue.
All Parameters are in the sig and are current the only one missing was the salinity was hoping for an opinion of what was happening, and don't mind answering question as long as something comes out of it. So any idea of what may be going on? I have found much of your info very useful SushiGirl.
Mine gets just enough flow to make it wave a little, and it eats mysis every day greedily. Nitrates are usually 5 in that tank (was up to 10 after cycling). I still have questions, though LOL. Do you update your signature line every time you test your parameters and when was the last time you tested? Also did you do a water change before this happened, how long have you had the frag, and have you noticed the damsel messing/playing with it?
Maybe the trates are what's wrong, mine used to test 20 ppm , since I started vinager dosing mine are holding steady at 10 ppm.
Adding small amounts of sugar, vinegar or vodka adds carbon to the tank which feeds bacteria that feeds on the nitrate and phosphate so it lowers them rather than raises, and yep you will need some of them (nitrate, phosphate) to feed corals anyhow. With your params you don't need to carbon dose however. Just search carbon dosing tons of info if you want to know more though. Gotta have a skimmer and I don't, so I don't do it myself.
