What's up with my BTA???

Hater of Hair Algae
I've had a GBTA for about a month now and he has stayed on the same rock this whole time, although he did move to different sides of the rock. Last night I started to get ready for a water change by taking a powerhead a blasting the rocks and barebottom to get the detritus out. This morning I noticed my nem on the bottom of the tank, off his rock which I thought he couldn't get off of. His tentacles are stringy and he doesn't look happy. I'm planning on doing the water change either tonight or tommorrow with RO/DI of course. Should I be concerned???

He should be fine.
You may have accidentally blown him with the PH.

Did a similar thing last week: Was cleaning the tank and my arm was pushing against the output of my MJ1200 and deflecting the flow to you guessed where? Right onto my RBTA. She didn't like it and shrunk up quickly. Whithin minutes she looked worse than when expelling waste. Fully deflated, tentacles laying down and retracting. She only came out about half way the day after.
Then, the very next day all was well and back to normal.

Hopefully this is what may have happened, your GBTA got blasted, became ****ed off, and decided to relocate to a safer place.

If no changes in 48 hours, then maybe you have another problem elsewhere.
