whats up with the lil guy??

I have a pair of black and white clowns since last september. Starting about 2 weeks ago i have been noticing that the lil guy is staying in the top left corner of the tank like he's hiding or scared to death. Last few days he's been doing the stay in the corner nose up and tail down stuff. The female doesn't seem to be around him that much and she is hiding an aweful lot too. When they are together she is of course pretty aggressive towards him. He seems pretty thin as of late, whats up? everything is kosher in the tank as far as i can tell. Numbers are all cool, everyone else is happy etc. LFS thinks they might be getting ready to spawn but i'm new to the clownfish thing and getting pretty worried about the lil guy. He still eats which has got to be a good sign but both are pretty boring now, no playing or swimming about the tank. Should i be worried about him and if so what can i do to help him out. I don't think she is beating him up too much or anything like that, but i could be wrong.

Fish at the top are usually looking for air. Tail down can be a sign of something internal. Is he eating?

He's eating, and pretty well but when he goes for the food he seems scared, kinda grabs a piece and runs like hell. He moves just fine, still wobbles like all the healthy clowns i've seen do. When he is headup tail down his belly is against the glass and almost like he is almost hosting on the glass, they are tank raised so i have never seen them go towards anything like the fuzzy mushrooms or the frogspawn. I don't have any nems yet, still making sure the tank is happy and healthy for at least a year before hand. Tank has been up for over a year but i had some issues so i might be being overly cautious.
