What's wrong with my Dendrophyllia?

You may see from the pic. I feed them every three days with mysis shrimp or brine shrimp but ...seems they start to peel off from the skeleton.

I heard about overfeeding so that the food residue inside could spoil and kill them? Or does it because of the water quality? Any body could verify from my pic?

Basically it normally happens if they're not getting enough food; they then shrink and the flesh begins to peel off. I think it can also happen if they eat so much that the food rots in their stomach and they stop eating and end up dying. From the pic it's not possible to know the actual cause but I would guess the first cause is more common.

From my judging, all other dendros are open nicely and fully but some of the old specimen they would seem a bit contract(but with tentacles coming out as normal) and started to peel off completely within 3-4 days

Do they have enough water flow on them to carry away waste? Mine gets fed every day as well as my duncan, with no problems. I keep enough flow on them to make the tentacles wave but not so much that it makes the tentacles stubby or retract.

You're welcome.

I've also had this experience with some of my sun corals where, due to lack of proper attention, some polyps would suddenly stop feeding and there would be rapid shrinking and subsequent peeling of tissue. It can be difficult to bring them back from this stage.
