What's wrong with my snails?

Over the last two weeks I've noticed about 5-10 snails a day on laying on their back facing up. At first I didn't think anything about it but as the weeks have gone on I've noticed more and more in the sand facing up. Someone suspected a fish might be picking but I don't think that's the case. When I notice one facing up I'll turn him right side up or place him along the sand bed and glass line so he can easily climb the glass. Well so far none have recovered and I end up pulling them out and throwing them out before they die and polute my tank. This evening I noticed the snails on the back glass are in the same exact spot they've been for the last two days and you can see "clean spots" where they have fallen off. Normally I see trails all along the glass but not now. I've tested my water and my PO4 is less than .01, NO3 less than .5 and my KH, CA, salanity and MG are all in line too. Someone said it could be stray current and I'm begining to think so, today I noticed two Anthias are MIA. So my question is would stray current cause this condition and if so how does one test for this?

Thanks-

Clint

What kind of snails. Many cold in the hobby are actually temperate water snails that don't last long in our warm tanks. Or you could jsut have some other issues.
