What's Wrong With My Torch

My torch's 2nd head hasn't come out to play in two days. I woke up one morning and it was mostly retracted. Today it's totally retracted and the other isn't extended as much maybe 70%. Water parameters are good.

What could be going on?

More information is needed.

1. When did you add this coral to your tank?
2. We need numbers for your parameters, not "good".
3. What kind of flow is your torch getting?
4. Placement in tank?
5. What are you running your SOL at?

Coral added Feb 4th, 2012

Flow: posted a video asking about the flow, a few people replied saying it was just right. It's random, not too strong, not laminar.

Coral is about halfway up in the tank but lights are 14 inches AWL. 6 Hour photoperiod at 68% all W B RB. The rest is dimming up and down to 1 1 1.

Clowns are hosted by anemone and nothing is bothering the torch that I can see.

Ca 420
Mg 1300
Po4 .05 +/- .04
Nitrates <10
Alk 9
Temp 80
SG 1.25

It only just started doing this past few days.

What is your pH swing like? I had a big swing when I was adjusting my 2 part, and I noticed that my torch didn't like it and retracted. What's odd is that only one head is acting negatively. My entire colony (3 heads) retracted.

Do you have any other LPS next to it? Something that could send out long sweeper tentacles at night possibly?

Your Nitrates and P04 are a little elevated. I don't think it would affect only one part or your torch. I'd look at flow and work on Nitrates and P04. I like Nitrates at 0.0 or 0.5 and P04 no more than 0.03.

My nitrates could be zero, my test color was lighter than then the 10 color so I just record less than 10. My PO4 could be as little as 0.01 or 0.09 as the test accuracy is plus or minus 0.04. But it's been consistently the same. My PH swings in the winter from 8.0 to 7.8 but closer to 8.00. I have changed my flow and made it a little less. I also reoriented the head so that is where the other head was. Time will tell I guess.

Here's the latest. The other polyp doesn't look right. And the good polyp is not as extended as it has been and there is one really long tentacle which seems odd. It's always had that one longer tentacle tho' and the other "dead" polyp has always had less PE than the other polyp.

Is my one polyp history or have people seen this before and the polyp comes back?
