I just wanted to start a thread on electricity costs and equipment. Type of lighting, photoperiod, other equipment. YOUR cost per kilowatt. I think would be of interest. I don't spend all that much, maybe my electricity here is cheap in PA?
My average bill $30/month using about 500 Kwh. That's 0.06 per Kwh!
It increases to $40 with my AC running. I live in a small one BR college apt.
The previous tenant paid about $10/month for electric.
2x 175W10K MH for 5 hours per day
65W PC for 12 hours per day
Iwasaki 40 return
2x sieo 650's, eheim 1250, and about 4 other misc pumps for skimmers and circulation
1/10 chiller(I don't see significant increases during the summer)
heater, PH meters, fuge lights
This is for a 75G tank+100G sump.
I could run 9 more tanks given the $300 avg bill I often read about on RC. What's everyone else running?
