What's your favorite fish?

I will have to find a pic. but its my long nose hawk fish. I have had him the longest..

But 2 weeks before i broke down my 180 he disapeared. So,, i assumed he had died because i didnt see him for literally 2 weeks maybe longer.

Well when i took down the tank i removed my HOB lifereef double overflow and low and behold he was in there, HE had no place to move and the water was probably less than an inch deep so low the top of his fin was barely sticking out!

I was like that sucks, he is for sure dead, well believe it or not he survived and is now living in my 60 gallon cube

ok, found one, here he is chillin on a clip

Id have to say my copperband butterfly is my favorite.

Besides the markings and coloration(which is really neat noting the big "eye" on their tail looks just like large fish peeking up from the rocks when they have their nose down hunting for food), I enjoy their curious nature, always on patrol. Also what drew me was that their not easy to keep and kind of a "step up" from your typical bread and butter coral fish.
Not to mention the fact that he increased his sexieness when I found out they eat aiptaisia anenomes ;)

Sorry no pics, but it's a three way tie between:
Porcupine puffer/clown trigger/Blue tang

I just like these fish so much.
They are all so beautiful, and have awesome personalities.

I want one of those butterflys Justin!

where can I get one?? and how much??

They come in periodically but in my experience its best to find one at the very least 3". I find there "pallet" is more diversified and are more willing to except frozen foods. The luck of getting an anenome eater is also increased. The smaller babies that come in between 1 and 2 inches have HORRIBLE success rates. So finding a slightly bigger one, and healthy with no neurotic behaviours(whipping and flashing signs of parasites) is easier said than done. Another value to this fish. Price ranges between 30 and 40. My first one died during a power outtage last summer. Since then Ive tried 3 more times with the last finally being successful. The first attempt was from John at yourreef, it would periodically flash and twitch, but otherwise appeared healthy, it wasnt. And instead of just acclimating him I should of given him a fresh water dip, which I think would have provided a much better outcome. The second I got straight from the wholesaler down in the bay, too small, was just over 2 inches. Would not eat anything, and the fact that the blue green chomis were just about as big stressed him out. The last one was bought toward the end of last year at Aqualife in Rocklin when I was still shopping there ;)
IME tank matched pH freshwater dip saturated with ich sollution( I use machalite green) is an aboslute must(Bob Fenner also recommends this for most fish brought in, ESPECIALLY if a QT is not used. Ya it can be done without, but the odds of survival are extremely increased.

But where there at right now and for how much, dunno :(

This guy is my favorite, with my naso tang and female blue jaw trigger running close second. He has fathered many babies, and he is very interactive and funny. The first time his babies were ready he swam right into the net so I could catch them!

reefer, it doesn't have to be reef safe. It possibly doesn't even have to be in your tank, but I think it's better from your own tank. Most people will find a fish that they love for their personality.

I am very fond of all my fish, but my banggais would have to be my favorites. They always hang out in the front of the tank and I enjoy watching how they interact with each other. The whole process of mating and egg holding is magical. It doesn't hurt that the babies are so cute either. I'm raising a clutch now and really enjoying the cute little things.

Very nice Anthias. When I move ny Reef Tank to a bigger Tank i would like to get some Anthias. What type are your?

I have 2 favorites. The first is a Coral Beauty I had. I lost him last summer while on vacation. A side from being beautiful he had huge personality. He was a camera hog...had to be in every shot.

The second is my Lawnmower Blenny. I didn't think much of him at first but he is a real character... not much of a ham but I managed to get a shot of him lurking behind the Zoos.

Enjoy!

I have had this guy for about a year. He is about 13 inches!!

Here are 2 pics of my favorite. Although my wife would disagree, he is in fact my favorite, and my newest addition. Sorry for the blurry pics, but it's difficult to take a good pic of such a fast moving fish. The first is with flash, and the second without.
