Sequence and Red Dragons are at the top of the list, but both are rather expensive, especially the RD's. Next would have to be Eheims, then Lagunas, and Ocean Runners.
I have been partial towards any Sequence pump. But like Sparks said - it would probably be too big for your tank. My next favorite pumps would be the Eheim - but they are pricey. Seems very well constructed.
I would personally avoid Mag pumps. Too much heat. Not suitable for constant on/off function (autotopoff or wavemaker). Poor customer service.
I agree that Eheims are a good small pump. All of our pumps are either Sequence or Eheim on our setup. (Sequence Super-Dart return pump, Sequence Dart needlewheel on our skimmer, Eheim 1260 on our calcium reactor and Eheim 1262 as a feed pump for our chiller). So we definitely favor the Sequence and Eheims, just as Reefugee does
EDIT : The only thing we use MAGs for is mixing salt, draining tanks, filling tanks, etc. Basically tasks where noise, heat and reliability are not as important (although mags are pretty reliable, so long as they are running and not put on a shelf for any extended period).
Sparks - I do use a mag for my calcium reactor and mixing salt water. The impeller on calcium reactor mag has been replaced twice. What ever you do - don't use a mag for constant on/off function. I went through 4 impellers in 2 weeks. Went to an Eheim for my auto topoff, and haven't had any problems.
There are always threads in the lighting section here on reefcentral.
Oceanrunners and Eheims get brought up alot to me The OR's are half the cost just as quiet never heard any reliability issue with either and the OR is more energy efficient
