whats your favorite salt for sps?

luckily, petsmart honors their online pricing for io, $32 per bucket.

btw, i was given a few boxes of tropic marin, and the texture of the salt is so different from the IO and coralife. it seems far softer, more like powdered sugar than the others, which feel more like table salt.

wonder what the impact is chemically?

anyone have a link to a fact table with all the salts freshly mixed and tested?

There was a post on here of different people posting their calcium, alk and ph levels after mixing fresh salt water.

I like the Red Sea Coral Pro, but just recently switched back to Tropic Marin Pro Reef.
I believe my calcium levels are more stable and and the buffering is better.

EAGLES- do you have Ca,KH,Mg levels on a batch of the Sera mix?
I've heard this is nice salt but don't know much about it.
Thanks,
Chad

I've been using Via Aqua's OceanPure salt. It's the cheapest salt I've ever come across at $33.95 for 200 gallon mix. It dissolves quickly, has pretty good levels (ca:400 alk 8-9), and best of all is cheap! The only thing I've noticed with my batch is that it has low mag (1150). If it's available in your area, I would definitely give it a try. There was a big thread on it a while back, so if you can find it, then they should be lots of info.
