Whats your input on various GFO/Carbon reactors?

Been looking at the bulkreefsupply and their name bran reactors and they seem well built but I was hoping to get some input on various brands.

Trying to stay cheap bu I also dont want the thing leaking on me or clogging too easily.

you can find used TLF reactors cheap, but a new one is not that expensive.
It is truly easier to use, and it is not a water filter canister being sold to you as a media reactor lol.
the rubber elbow and connectors are designed for easy use and maintenance. very easy to reposition hoses, and very easy to connect and disconnect hoses. nice and compact, and lid won't jam like water filter canisters sold as media reactor. you can actually see your media, instead of trying to look through the cartridge inside the water filter canister sold as a media reactor. :) You can also hang a TLF reactor on your sump.

carbon in a media bag in the sump works just fine.

The "water filter canister being sold to you as a media reactor" works great and could not be "truly easier to use"

I have the BRS double. Well built, easy to maintain, comes with everything but media, water and a pump. I have mine plumbed into the return and using the included ball valve - edge back the flow to just keep the GFO tumbling. I also run their pellet GFO and the ROX carbon.

I started off with a via aqua poly reactor, but that was a mistake! It is too difficult and messy to change media. I changed to the BRS carbon and GFO reactor and I couldn't be happier! At least I am able to use the pump that was included with the via aqua to run the BRS reactor.

I was looking at the BRS dual reactor and they say themselves one down side is the carbon can clog up and slow the flow which will effect the performance of your gfo.

Have you experienced this DFWBill

That will happen with any reactor with dual chambers and is not unique to the BRS dual reactor. I have experienced this myself and it is much worse with the ROX carbon, I switched to the regular BRS Ignite carbon and its much better, but eventually clogs some slowing down the flow (after about 3-4 weeks). However, its not that big of a deal because I just adjust the ball valve accordingly.

I have both the TLF reactor on one tank and the BRS reactor on the other. I like them both, but would probably buy another BRS reactor if I needed a third. They're both cheap and the BRS just seems more sturdy to me. I do like that I can hang the TLF on the tank though :)

brs are the best for me very sturdy & well built. i can see thru mine at look at media just fine. i went with 2 singles instead of the dual to avoid the flow restriction

Got the Dual from BRS, and I cant complain. Singles are nice if you have an algae problem and need to replace GFO often. The convenience of the dual was just better for me and I havent had a clogging issue (yet, lol) in the two + years of use.

I can't comment on the one you are looking at because I've only used NextReef MR1. I use them on all of my tanks and so far I haven't had any problems with them. They are cheap and easy to clean. I noticed one of my LFS (300g tank) they use this brand as well.
