What's your method for introducing fish?

When I had a reef tank I didn't have a quarantine tank so all new inhabitants got a freshwater dip. 1 minute in rodi water and right into the tank.

The only people I know who do fresh water dipping use established water from a fresh water tank they have ( I dont know of them ever losing a fish).

I think the PH difference alone in just RO/DI water would shock and stress the fish this is just my guess I dont have any scientific facts to that.

And of course there are people in this post who do it and have success.

Absolutely. I always buff up the RO dip to match my tanks' alkalinity and temperature. Heck, that alone is a strong shock, let alone if you dont. And I havent met a fish yet that could handle more than 1 minute of it, which IME is seems to be enough.
