whats your opinion on moon lights/leds?

I would like to add some blue leds to the tank and was looking at the R2 solutions dual extreme's. WHat are you using for moon lights or blue leds? I plan on running them 24/7 depending on how bright they are at night. I may add a couple 2 led strips to actually use as moon lights and just run the extremes to blue up the overal tank. any thoughts?

Thanks!

cool thanks ghellin, I've looked at so many its crazy. I just need to cover 6ft and would like to blue up the tank alittle and have some moon lights.

stealth, how many do you have running?

I extended the wires to evenly run 4 along a 4 foot span on my 75gal. Gives a great color and really makes my corals fluoresce.

Glad you told me I was going to order like 20 of them! I wait to see yours Ghellin.

Thanks guys!

thanks ghellin! those look awesome over the tank! they are pretty bright. I will probably run 2 strings, one one 24/7 and one on first and off last for dawn dusk . Thanks again those are great moon lights. I'll get these back to you at the next meeting.

I will order the 4leds and about 20 and go from there. I may order a few of the other colors to see if they change the look any or not. once I get them here and installed I'll let you know how they are doing.

Thanks Again!

do those need any special drivers or would just a 12V adaptor work? i took a peek at them last night and looks like something i might be interested in.

Which ones? I had LEDs on the hood of my aquapod, and a 1x4 board with a few LED modules. The LEDs in the hood are high power LEDs and do require a LED driver. The ones on the board are waterproof LEDs for moonlighting and are powered by any simple 12v power supply.

yeah i was looking at the waterproof moonlights. only a 12v power supply makes 'em pretty affordable and they look to be a really simple install.

i just ordered from that site Saturday, have not got mine yet. but i got a blue boat kit and aft light. got the white led aft light to use night fishing due to the low amp pull , and modules to light up the internal of the boat, it should look good at night. and not mess up your night vision to much. i use a 24 inch strip light on my 55 gal holding tank works great. also if u look on ebay there is one guy that sells a aquarium kit up to 72 inch, i have one of these as well and light up the tank great, but they are not water proof and if u drop then they will go out. i have use this this one for about 2 years, if u want the guys store site pm me and i will look it up
