Whazit?

I found this little 3/8 inch boomarang looking thing on my glass.It went up to a snail and the snail zoomed to the other side of the tank. It actually looks like a star with only two legs. I bagged it until I can get it identified. Does anyone have any idea??

i would say a starfish of some kind missing a few legs, or a stealth bomber

that appears to be a newly made Asterina sea star. they multiply by dropping a leg or two off then that leg makes a new starfish. heres some more info (towards the bottom)

Thank you guys! It must have come with some LR. I've never put a star in my tank. It doesn't sound like it's something I want in there either.

they are harmless. well most of them. some have been reported to munch on SPS corals, but rarely. i have about 30 in my tank. they have never been a problem. chances are they did come from the LR. i started with 1 about 8 months ago. they are good little algae grazers as well.
