And I have looked through this forum, and did find a post about whelks and a 'here this link may help', but I tend to glaze over when reading one of Ron's reefkeeping.com articles. It gave me no real smoking gun to ID it as a whelk. And I wish I would have taken a better picture of it when the foot wasnt exteded.
All i know is that I never bought a nassarius, and this came as a hitchhiker.
