when are the black tangs gonna be ~4"?

I have a yellow and purple in qt (both are about 4") and I want to add a black at the same time but I don't want to add a 2 incher (like the ones in season now). Does anyone know how fast these grow in the wild and when decent size ones will be available? Thanks

I don't think there will be 4" black tangs any time soon. It is the most sought after size. I just purchased a "tiny" black tang too small to put in my reef tank. I am fattening it up in a 20 long and luckily it is eating quite well thus also growing.

Are you gonna have any more small ones in anytime soon? I keep eying that nice hybrid scopas/black, but if I can get a black I'll hold out for that.

There is a good sized, probably 5-6" at a LFS.....way out of my price range.
