When changing bulbs

I was wondering should I lessen my lighting period once installing new bulbs or should they be fine running the same period as they were before the change?

what kind of bulbs? you will want to acclimate the corals to the new lighting, and often some layers window screening over the tank for a few days would work well, removing 1 every 3-4 days.

It's usually a good idea to shorten your lighting period and slowly bring it back up, but it depends a lot on how long you wait between changing bulbs. The new bulbs will definitely be brighter (assuming same brand and kelvin), but most of us try to change them out before that difference is very significant.

Yeah I am not upgrading lights just changing my bulbs to the same bulbs that I am using. They are about 8 months old.
