I currently have a 75g sps tank with a heavy stock and a handful of high end expensive pieces. I decided to upgrade to a 187g and have that tank up and running. It has been cycled and running for about 3 months or so and put a few small tester corals in there and they all seem to be doing good and growing. The 187g was started with dry rock and tile for my substrate and cycled with bottled bacteria.
I was planning on just moving all my corals at once to keep my stress down and have one less tank to maintain. Is it even safe/advisable to do that and what about my dosing? Can I just run the lines from my dosing pumps to the new tank and call it a day or will I need to dose more/less?
This weekend I will have a total of 6 fish in the 187 after they finish QT but I will not transfer the fish from the 75g right away. They don't show signs of anything but I would still like to QT them before I go ahead and mix them with the new fish. I will QT my old fish via TTM and transfer them after 4 transfers.
Is moving to a bigger tank that easy or am I missing something very important? I just want to make sure everything will be ok before I go ahead with the process.
Thanks in advanced
