When should I buy a Diamond Goby?

My tank has been fully cycled and is a little over 1 month old. I have an Ocellaris clownfish that I have only had for about a few days now. He is healthy and eating fine. I know I shouldn't add another fish for a couple weeks and I wont. I am really interested in purchasing a Diamond Watchman goby. Do they need a more mature sandbed since they sift it so often? How long should I wait until I add one ?

I usually wait for 8 weeks to add the diamond goby. By that time my sand is starting to look dirty. My diamond also eats flake food and sinking wafer food along with any frozen foods I feed.

Do you think that it is necessary to feed him sinking wafers?

Wafers might be a little large. Pellets maybe. I feed my sifter (not a Diamond Watchman, but basically the same) mysis using a turkey baster. He usually meets me about halfway up in the tank for the first round, then eats the rest off the sand.

The wafers are way too big for him. He swims around the tank with it sticking out of his mouth as he breaks off pieces. Fun to watch. But he does eat mysis, worms etc as well.
