when to add clowns?

My BTA is about 2-3" across and has been in the tank for about 3 weeks (all in the same spot). My plan was to add 2-3 tank raised baby percs. Question is when? After BTA is a certain size? Been in the tank for a certain time?

Clowns are hardy fish, so if the anemone is doing fine, the percs should be fine as well.

Just so you know, percs don't naturally host in BTA's although it's not impossible in an aquarium. Tomatoes and Maroons are the most common clowns that naturally host BTA's.

I know percs don't usually host in BTAs, but thought I'd give it a try and have a better shot with tank raised little ones.

Do I have to worry about the nem? Just afraid that it will get roughed up since its small.

I wouldn`t stick baby percs with the anemone , wait till they get bigger . Also you would have a better shot of wild caught then tank raised hosting .

Just watch out though...with wild caught runs the risk of alot more diseases.

That is why they have QTs . There are many clown species that do not breed well in captivity and are wild caught instead .

I'm definitely going with tank raised, so hopefully that will help with the disease risk.

I'm going to have to wait at least a little while now. The nem has been hanging upside down in a cave since about 2 days after I got it. It squeezes out between a couple of rocks during the day to get light. In my infinite wisdom, I decided to move one of the rocks. Now the nem is just hanging in the cave and won't come out at all...Hopefully, this doesn't mean a 'wander' is in it's future. I want to make certain it's comfortable and happy before adding any clowns.
