When to start copper in QT

I just pulled my 8 fish that are still living and put them in a 30 gallon QT tank, wondering how long I should wait to start treatment with copper. Should I let them de stress from the move from the large tank to the smaller tank or should I just get the treatment started.

Id say start right away. What kinds of fish? Some are sensitive to copper like angels. Id suggest some chloroquine phosphate instead of the copper, its easier on the fish and a faster treatment.

Like the others said, start treatment immediately. Use a 'safer' copper alternative like Cupramine and dose up to half your intended concentration right away. Wait 48 hours and then bring the concentration up to full strength.

exactly what I did, target was 1.5-2 on copper level so I started at ~ .75 the first day,got it above 1 the next day or two and level'd out just shy of 2 by the end of the first week.

Also note the copper will probably affect their appetite the first few days, my clowns started eating normally again after 3-4 days.
