When would you suggest to order?

I am waiting for my protein skimmer to get here. I hope Euroreef will be shipping it the end of this week. They changed their design and unfortunately, I am in the middle of their changeover...hense the delay.
I don't want to order my TBS package until I get the skimmer.
I see by a post today that there is now a 2 week wait for the rock.

When would you suggest I put my order in? I'd like to be able to get it once my skimmer comes. I've had my brand new tank for 2 weeks already with nothing but water in it.

patience my freind......patience. it will come soon enough. i would say give Mary a call or email, and ask them if they have an idea of when they could ship the first half of your size package. see the thing is though, weather controls weather or not they have rock, at this point. she could only give you a guesstimate. you should be fine running for a day or two without the skimmer, and it wont hurt if your skimmer beats your rock there either.

Good Luck with TBS. i just took the plunge, and i dont mind waiting. im not sure how long it will be, but i know if i have to wait, it will be real fresh rock when it is sent to me.

if they are not sending you something out of they're store, its coming straight from the ocean floor.

Thanks Landon. Changed the skimmer to a MCR since I could not get a date Euroreef would be shipping. So once my husband gets the new skimmer installed, he should be set.

i would go ahead and order then (unless your husband is like me and the skimmer wil be sitting there for three weeks :D). if he is as interested in the reef as you are, it would be safe to say it will be installed in a timely manor. my wifes projects always take me a lot of time to get done  even though i can set upa tank in a day or two :lmao:

Well, it's not a matter of installing in a timely manor...it's about the knowledge of installing it.
We went to this guys house...looked at his system....bought the skimmer. He said he knew how to do it. Then we get home and he "forgot". I swear, this was all supposed to be so exciting and fun. Well it has turned into dreaded misery. Then when I wanted to call the guy to get him to explain it to him, my hubby says he won't talk to him because he feels stupid. So.....I am leaving it totally in his hands now. Let him figure it out. He has been installing it this morning, but I don't know how far he has gotten.
I don't think he is going to give up at this point. I know he wants this done just as much as I do.
I asked him to please call someone and hire them to at least come and set the tank up, but he refuses to do that.
What's the worst that can happen now.....we spent over $3,000 and look at this beautiful empty tank. If that's what he wants, then so be it. I am just going to let him do it his way.
Thanks so much for your reply.
