Where can I buy bulkheads locally?

Does anyone have actual places where they have been able to find bulkhead fittings in Cleveland?

My Oceanic tank came with bulkheads years ago, but I have never been able to find threaded pipes or fittings that match the threads. So I have always used flex pipe with clamps to bring water from my tank to my sump.

So I thought I would buy new ones where I can thread hard pipe to my sump and so I can hard pipe my return as well.

I can order them online I know, but want to figure out this whole thread issue in person.

On a side note, does anyone know why my current bulk heads will not work with any other threads I find on fitting at big box stores? I would have thought that Oceanic would put US measurements on their threads.

Salty has them, Tropical Aquarium has them......I'm not sure about Aquatic technologies, might want to call first

Good luck!!

Aquatic Tech has them...I pickup some a few weeks ago and he said he had plenty of both threaded and slip style...but...with gas these days I would call be fore I went to any of these places! :D

Thanks guys.

I guess I should restate my request to something on the East side. Salty is WAY to far (Although I love the place) and going to Aquatic Tech I think I would rather have my teeth pulled. That guy is never freindly and the place is too dirty and unorganized. Maybe it has changed in the last 2 years.

you could try Jurassic, that's about it on the east side i think....and you can always have Dan ship them to you....he takes off the tax to help offset the shipping....and with gas and tolls, it would be cheaper to have them shipped to you than drive out there.

Thank you very much.

That is a good suggestion. I will give them a call and see what they say.

Thanks again!

If I where you I would just order then from Savko in columbus they are the cheapest I have ever found for the A+ quality and they arent metric pipe fittings. they have a chart on there sight if yo go to the CORA sight they are a sponsor also. good luck ps I would get schedule 80 if they will fit you dont have to worry about them.

Thanks, I am actually in Columbus everyther week or so. Do they have a store front? Do you know their location?

Thanks again!!

Savko is just off of I71 on Sinclair between Morse and 161. About half way between them there is a traffic light, head west and just before you cross the railroad tracks they are on south side.

Where is Tropical Aquarium? I have not heard of that one.

I am actually headed on the long road trip to Salty Critter tomorrow. Need to get a new pump since mine blew up. Going to buy a Pan World pump and get some bulkheads. Anyone want to tag along with my son and I?

Thanks all!!:D

TA is on Pearl at 303 in a plaza. If you take 71 to 303 and make a left onto Pearl, it's a quick right into the parking lot.

Now I remember. I went in there earlier this new. I think it is a fairly new store if I am not mistaken. I think they had a pool in there with sting rays. My kids loved it.

Bought some sea hares in there.

What size are you looking for, I usually have quite a few.

Hey thanks a ton, I actually drove out to Satly Critter on Saturday and bought a new pump so I stocked up on bulkeads while I was there. They actually did not have 1 1/2 inside slip and I forgot this when I cemented the fittings last night to the tank. So I had to go with an adapter which thankfully I had one.
