Where can I buy dwarf octos near WPB?

goodluck find any of those names in a LFS. almost all the LFS's have no idea what they have, how old it is, or how big it will get. most put common brown octopus, or just octopus alone. and if they lable it "dwarf" and its already a good size its either A.) not a dwarf and will grow pretty big or B.) is a dwarf but only has a short time left to live since most dwarfs dont live past 6 months to 1 yr anyways. GL though. you can prolly just dive for em and look for em under rocks.

I have seen them seasonally on sealifeinc.com
I believe thats the website.....if not just google
sea life inc.
They email the guy and ask when are they coming in...
I believe it will not be again until sometime next year.

Most LFS can get them at the wholesalers in Miami(which are closed to the public)...but you will have to ask since they arent the easiest thing to keep in stores since they like to get out!! Also contact etropicals.com. They always have them just not listed on the webpage. But like already stated, they will not know the difference between the 2 differernt types. What type of tank are you planning on keeping it in? make sure every little hole is covered or it will get out!!!! Have you checked in to cuddlefish? They are pretty cool but just dont go exploring outside of the tank!! There is one at Exotic Aquatic now! So cool

im not to sure on any hotspot diving places.. well becuase i dont dive :P. i would if i had the stuff or someone to go with though. :/

Out of every LFS from WPB to Kendall the only one I have ever seen an octopus at is Coral Reef Farm. They don't usually carry it but they can get it for you.

Big Als has had some, I saw some on 1-2 of the stores on Bird Rd...
If you have time, grab the LFS spreadsheet and call up some stores. Thats what I do when I am hunting something down.

Ok so I heard there is a good spot on blue heron. I went there sat. Saw some very cool stuff. talked to a few people. they said it is best to catch the octos at night. To be honest some of the creatures I saw in the daylight kinda freaked me out. theres no way I'm gonna go down in the dark. You think I would have any luck with a cast net. do the octos swim freely in the dark? Thanks for the input.

Huge starfish like 20" across. many wrasses. Hog fish. blue spotted rays, barracuda, amber jacks, and alot of stuff I don't know the name of. really cool. I could have stayed all day. I might like to have a partner if I am gonna dive in the dark for octos.

No it is right near the boat ramp. only 3-5 feet deep. Easy. on the intercoastal. near the palm beack inlet. I will go back when i get some free time. It is very cool. At least until I get scuba certified.

Hmmm....
Pm me directions or when you'd be going back... I would be interested in going along (if you don't mind) to check it out.

yeah man we should check it out. Its blue heron exit on 95n then just head east. cross over the big bridge and phil foster park is on left. that is where I park then go snorkeling under that big bridge. I am get off work at 430. could go after. my weekends are rarely free. Let me know.
